Community chat

Community chat is the embedded Matrix client on the Community tab — powered by Cinny at chat.moinho-novo.com, with sign-in through the same Moinho ID you use for the portal.

Opening chat

  1. Sign in to the customer portal.
  2. Click Community in the navigation.
  3. The chat loads in an embedded panel in the middle of the page.

You can also click Open … in a dedicated tab to use chat full-screen — helpful on mobile or if the embedded view is cramped. For a native app, see Encryption & devices → Mobile apps (Element X or FluffyChat).

First-time use

The first time you open chat, Cinny may ask you to Continue with Moinho ID. Approve the sign-in — if you are already logged into Moinho ID in your browser, this is often automatic.

Our systems link your customer account to a Matrix user and invite you to the shared community room.

Private messages and encryption

The shared #community room is not encrypted — you can read it on any device after signing in.

Direct messages (DMs) you start in Cinny are encrypted end-to-end by default. That means only your verified devices can read them. If you sign in on a new browser without verifying it, DMs may show as “Unable to decrypt” until you complete device verification or enter your recovery passphrase.

Set this up on first use if you plan to use DMs:

  1. Open chat.moinho-novo.com in a dedicated tab.
  2. Go to Settings → Devices and enable device verification.
  3. Choose a recovery passphrase and save your recovery key somewhere safe.
